Add Rate
This screen allows you to manually add rates one by one.

Within a2billing.conf, there is an option to show an advanced rate table which allows you to charge stepped rates. That is to say that the first x minutes at one rate, and the remaining minutes at y rate. There are three steps available.

Rate card
Select the previously created rate card from the drop down.

Dial Prefix
Enter the digits of your dial prefix that the dialed digits will match against. It will depend on your location and carrier, and whether or not you have selected "Remove International Prefix" in the call plan as to whether you add the rates into the system with or without the international prefix (00, 011, 09).

Generally, it is recommended to add the rates without the international prefix, just start with the country code. In this way, it is easier to manipulate the codes to select different carriers.

In this field you can add multiple dial codes separated by a comma. These will be entered into the database as separate records. This only works as an "Add Rate" not as an "Edit Rate"

Note that if a dial code does not exist, then the customer cannot dial that destination. If it required to be able to dial a destination, even if the dial code does not exist, simply add the word "defaultprefix" and this will match with all destinations.

Destination
Give the destination a sensible name.

Buying Rate
The cost of the call, supplied by the carrier. All rates must be in entered in your selected base currency. The base currency is set in a2billing.conf

Buy Rate Min Duration
The minimum duration to be charged buy the carrier.

== Buy Rate Billing Block Do be careful of carriers with very cheap rates that charge to the nearest penny or the nearest cent. This may suggest that your minimum buy duration may be more than 1 minute. This is the way that the call is charged, e.g. to the nearest minute, or the nearest second.

Selling Rates
The Rate you wish to charge your customers.

Sell Rate minimum Duration
The minimum duration to be charged for the call.

Sell Rate Billing Block
The billing increment, e.g. do you want to charge rounded up to the nearest minute. If this is the case, put a 60 in this field for 60 seconds.

Connect Charge and Disconnect charge
These are effectively the same thing. They add a fixed charge onto a completed telephone call.

Start Date and Finish Date
The start date of the rate table. This is how old rate tables can be expired and new ones added, or alternatively, special rates can be added for say valentines day or special offers.

Start Time and End time
The start time and end time for the rate to allow off peak and peak rates.

Trunk
The trunk can be forced with this field. Normally it will pick up the trunk from the creation of the rate card.

USE FREE TIME TO CALL PACKAGE
If you have created a package, and you have selected that package in the call plan, this dictates whether this destination falls in the package offer.

The steps to have free minutes to certain destinations are:-

1.Create a Package
2.Select the package in the call plan
3.Select the rates to be included in the package using this field.

CID Group
Created as a special project for a customer. This allows the Caller ID to be randomly selected and delivered over your trunk (if your carrier allows CLI manipulation) from a list of caller ID's in the CID Group section.

Confirm Data
Finally, confirm data, and go on to add the next rate.

NB
This can get quite tedious after a while so check 1-3-ImportRatecard
